Singing lessons at Appell Voice Studio rock! Listen as Matt Johnson’s voice soars in this kicking tune. Can Matt sing a HIGH C without straining? Absolutely. And he learned how by training with me at my studio in south Orange County.
I write and produce music for many of my students. I produce in many genres but classic rock is one of my favorites. This is the second song I’ve written with the uber-talented Matt Johnson.
In 2017 The Orange County Register newspaper ran a series of articles after interviewing people living at “Skid River” – the name given to the homeless encampment on the banks of the Santa Ana river near Angel Stadium. Matt and I were so moved by the stories we decided to write a powerful song about a homeless veteran living at Skid River. We titled the song There It Went, a sobering summation of what happened to what was supposed to be a wonderful life for one unfortunate soldier.
Renowned photographer David Freeman captured the image of a homeless man wrapped in what appears to be an American flag that tells the story.
If you enjoy There It Went and would like to hear more songs I’ve produced for Matt, check out Matt Johnson’s website by clicking here.
If you’d like to take your voice to the next level give me a call or shoot me an email. I work with lots of pros but enjoy helping beginning singers advance to the next level. Studio (949) 382-5911 thomas@appellvoicestudio.com
